White House of the Confederacy Built in 1818, this National Historic Landmark served as the executive mansion and home for Confederate president Jefferson Davis and his family from 1861 to 1865. Guided tours explore the lives and activities of those who lived and worked there and exhibits examine the complex legacies of the Confederacy.
To ensure the health and safety of both visitors and staff, the majority of the tour will take place outside. Visitors will have the opportunity to walk through the rooms on the first floor with a trained guide and take pictures. The walkthrough will conclude in the basement with a Q&A session. Adults $12; seniors, retired military, teachers, and students $10; kids (6–17) $6; active duty military $10; members and VA public school teachers and students free.

Antietam National Battlefield
158th Antietam Anniversary – Virtual Battlefield Tour
Thursday, September 17, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. EDT
Facebook; National Museum of Civil War Medicine To commemorate the 158th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam, staff from the National Museum of Civil War Medicine will conduct a special digital program about medical care at Antietam. Throughout the day staff will be giving special outdoor live stream presentations about the most important medical innovations enacted during the Civil War. The Pry property was vitally important for both the Union high command and its medical department during the Battle of Antietam. Come see the place where General George McClellan directed the battle and Jonathan Letterman oversaw his medical system, which changed emergency medicine in the United States forever. Free.
