In celebration of Halloween, there are several "spooky" Civil War events this week.
October 25th @9am-5pm: The Virginia Ordinance of Secession displayed @ the Library of Virginia (Richmond, VA).
October 25th @6pm: The Johnson County Library will host a community issues forum, “The Border War” @ the Central Resource Library (Overland Park, KS).
October 25th @ 6pm: "Night at the Museum," Civil War "ghosts" @ the American Civil War Museum of Ohio (Tiffin, OH).
October 26th @7pm: “Why Rhett wasn’t with Scarlet when Atlanta was burning" on blockade runners at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (Petersburg, VA).
October 26th @7pm: “Evolution of Military Medicine" @ the Virginia Historical Society (Richmond, VA).
October 26th @7:30pm: The Long Branch Historical Association will tackle the subject of the Civil War at a meeting featuring two Civil War-era characters @ City Hall (Long Branch, NJ).
October 27th @11:15am: “The Confederacy and the World," a special look at the White House of the Confederacy @ the Museum of the Confederacy(Richmond, VA).
October 27th @6pm: "American Oracle: the Civil War in the Civil Rights Era" with David Blight, at Lincoln’s Cottage (Washington, DC).
October 29th @10am-4pm: "‘We Shall Have Graveyards at Every Door’: The Lower Shenandoah Valley’s Border Region during the Civil War" @ Lord Fairfax Community College's Center for Civil War History (VA).
October 29th @10am-4pm: “Ship’s Company" on the USS Constellation in Baltimore Harbor (MD).
October 29th @12-5pm: “Mosby: Scout Along the Turnpike" along Route 50 (between Atoka and Aldie, VA).
October 29th @5pm-12am: "Ghosts of Green Hill" 1860s Halloween at Green Hill Farm (near Sharpsburg, MD).
October 29th @6-9pm: "The Seizure of Arlington and the Homeless Lees" @ Arlington National Cemetery (VA).
October 29th @7-9pm: “Spirits of New Market," spooky soldiers return at the New Market State Historical Park (New Market, VA).
October 29th @ 8pm: "Ghosts of the Battlefield" tours at the Lotz House (Franklin, TN).
October 29th & 30th: “Artillery at Antietam" @ the Antietam National Battlefield (near Sharpsburg, MD).
October 29th & 30th @11am-4pm: “Under Fire: The Battle of Harpers Ferry 1862," artillery camp and demonstrations at the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (WV).
Through October 30th: “A Nation Divided: The Heartland Responds,” an exhibition of Civil War photography, art and artifacts @ the Canton Museum of Art (OH).
October 30th @1pm: "Grisly Tales from Civil War Washington" @ Fort Bunker Hill (Washington, D.C.).
October 30th @ 2pm: “War, Peace and Memory" @ the Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park (between Amelia and Farmville, VA).
