December 13th @2-3:30pm: Professor Elizabeth D. Leonard will be having a book signing @ the Maine State Archives Search Room. Her latest book, Lincoln’s Forgotten Ally, is the first comprehensive biography of Judge Advocate General Joseph Holt.
 
December 13th @ 10am: Dedication of a Sesquicentennial marker for the "Skirmish on Yocum Creek" on the Green Forest Public Square (Carroll Country, AR).
 
December 14th @12:15pm: “Civil War Conversation: Christmas Traditions" @ Baine’s Books and Coffee (Appomattox, VA).

December 14th @2pm:  “Victorian Christmas Traditions" with lecture and special tour of the White House of the Confederacy @ the Museum of the Confederacy (Richmond, VA).

December 16th @5:30-7 pm: "Christmas with the Jacksons" @ the Stonewall Jackson House (Lexington, VA).

December 17th @9am-2pm: "A 19th-Century Christmas" @ Ellwood Manor on the Wilderness Battlefield (near intersection of Routes 3 and 20 west of Fredericksburg, VA).

December 17th @12-4pm: “The Legend of Civil War Santa" @ the Surratt House Museum (Clinton, MD).

December 17th @3-9pm: “Civil War Christmas at Brentsville" @ the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre (Bristow, VA).

December 17th-18th @11am-3pm: “A Civil War Christmas at Leesylvania State Park" (Woodbridge, VA).

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: March 23-24, 2012 - Kennesaw, Ga. 9th Annual Symposium on New Interpretations of the Civil War: '1862: The Path to Freedom.' The Civil War Center at Kennesaw State University presents renowned Civil War historians Ken Noe, Wiley Sword, Jeff Wert, and Brian Wills on Saturday, March 23 at 9:00 a.m. The various lectures will focus on events from 1862. An opening reception will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23 at the Southern Museum in Kennesaw. Please plan to attend these special events – free admission, and free parking available for Saturday's program in Kennesaw State's West Parking Deck, located on Campus Loop Drive.
